KidSport

So ALL Kids Can Play!
KidSport is a children’s charity designed to assist children of families facing financial barriers to participate in community sport programs.
KidSport identifies the need in communities, raises funds, and supports programs that create new opportunities for youth ages 5-18 years of age to participate in sport. The focus of KidSport is on the economic, social, and educational needs of the community. Sport is our tool.
All fundraising proceeds and donations are directly allocated to support eligible children and youth to participate in sport programs.
Mission
We believe that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport provides support to children and youth to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing an organized sport.
KidSport Believes
- • All children and youth deserve the opportunity to participate in organized sport.
- • The interests and needs of KidSport kids are the paramount concern of the program.
- • Communities are the best means to deliver the programs through a volunteer network.
KidSport was developed in 1993 by Sport B.C. and has since grown to include: B.C, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, and the territories of Sport North.
KidSport was introduced into Saskatchewan in 1995 as a separate non-profit charity. It has considerably grown since, and now serves 40 volunteer chapters across the province.
